Welcome to the Manual Talent Development Middle/High School Parent Center. This page will include valuable information that will assist parents, guardians, and family members to work with the school in providing the best possible educational opportunities for their student(s).

Parent/Guardian/Community Member Participation Opportunities:
There are still many spots available on one of our six Parent Advisory Committees within our Action Team for Community Partnerships. These committees and the Action Team will be instrumental in planning for parent/community activities and programming for the 2009/2010 school year. This group will have direct input with regards to what the future of Manual will look like. Don't miss your opportunity to give feedback/input as to the what you would like to see at Manual next year.

A brief description of the six Parent Advisory Committees is following:

Parent Advocacy - Working with the school to get the best educational experience possible for their student

Communicating - Setting up school-family communication methods about school programs and student progress

Volunteering - Involving parents and community members to act as volunteers and/or audiences in support of students and school programs

Learning at Home - Helping families to become effectively involved with learning activities outside of school

Decision-Making - Including families as advocates and participants in school decisions

Collaborating with the Community - Assisting students and families with finding supportive community resources and services
